So my 4 year old is home with the flu. The poor thing, bless her heart. However, it is the week before Christmas. My week to panic, my week to get everything done. It's gone. There will not be cookies for the teachers or anything special this year. I am lucky that I will be able to get the juice boxes for my 7 year old's Christmas party as long as she is still healthy by then. It has really put a wrench in my plans.
So, getting my holiday chores done has been a little more difficult this week. I decided this morning I would wrap my husband's gifts while he is at work. I sit down and start wrapping. In walks my 17 month old. I give him a piece of wrapping paper thinking it would keep him busy...WRONG. He wanted the whole roll, I am just so silly to think anything else. When he was over that, he then wanted the scissors and tape. When that plan went bust, he went for laying straight across my lap, so I would have to wrap presents around him. He eventually gave up and went to play...or so I thought. Two minutes later I heard an odd shaking sound. I look in the hall way and see him shaking a juice box upside down all over the floor...AJ-1 Mommy-0. Into the high chair he went. On the upside, I really did need to mop the floors...however, by 9:22 today I was DONE, even if my house smells better.
